Brant has been guiding these Campbell River area waters for over 35 years. He has guided a 54 pound tyee from in front of the Campbell River light house when he was 17 years old, and guided a 52 pounder in the raging waters of Seymour narrows the following year. Brant fished 20 years at the Dolphins Resort perfecting his skills in the motor boat and tyee row boat, registering guests with the tyee club of British Columbia. In the mid 1990s, the Campbell River sports fishery had moved from whaler type open boats fishing the fastwater to cruiser boats primarily downrigger fishing around the Campbell River and outer island area.
